The 'Be Better' series of interactive multimedia web-based training modules provides pharmacists with a working understanding of their changing role in pharmacy. The following modules have been developed to reinforce the knowledge and skills required for pharmacists to become more proactive with their patients.

• Module 1:

  Perspectives
  Focuses on the changes in the marketplace and the need for Pharmacists to change their scope of practice to include additional services. The emphasis is to take the Pharmacist from a passive role in the pharmacy where they wait for a patient to ask for information, to an active role that engages the customer. The module includes suggestive selling techniques that fit with the professionalism of a pharmacist.

• Module 2

  Immunization
  Utilizing video, interactive Q&A's and instruction, this module builds on the 'selling' aspect learned in the Perspectives module to, not only work through the process for completing an Immunization, but to also emphasize the move into the active role of making patients aware of the many immunization services that the Pharmacist can perform.

• Module 3

  Adaptations
  This module, again, builds on the Perspectives module but with the use of specific video scenarios to illustrate to the Pharmacist the many opportunities they have to complete an Adaptation so that they can become more comfortable performing Adaptations in the pharmacy.

• Module 4

  Med-Review/Med-Cheks
  This module further builds on the Perspectives module but with an emphasis on a concrete process that Pharmacists can use to implement an effective Med-Review. The goal is to take what appears to be outside the comfort zone of some pharmacists and make the process user-friendly.
